  • Uploaded Photos: Images you upload for photo-to-comic features. These are processed by AI and stored in your account.
  • Community Content: Stories or comics you choose to share publicly in the community feed.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Analytics: Features used, session duration, screens viewed, and interaction patterns (collected via Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel).
  • Crash Reports: Technical data about app crashes to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
  • IP Address: Collected temporarily for security purposes and approximate geolocation.

2.3 Payment Information

Payment transactions are processed securely by our payment providers (Apple App Store for iOS, Polar/Stripe for web). We never receive, process, or store your credit card number, CVV, or banking details. We only receive confirmation of successful transactions, order IDs, and subscription status.

  • Service Delivery: To generate AI-powered stories, comics, and images based on your inputs.
  • Account Management: To create and maintain your account, track credits, manage subscriptions, and sync data across devices.

4. AI Content Generation & Your Data

When you create content, your text prompts and uploaded images are sent to third-party AI services for processing. Important details:

  • Your prompts are used solely to generate the requested content and are not used to train AI models.
  • Generated images and stories are stored in your account and belong to you.
  • We use multiple AI providers (including Google Gemini, Ideogram, and others) depending on the feature. Each provider has their own data processing policies.
  • Uploaded photos for photo-to-comic features are processed by AI and stored securely. You can delete them at any time.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with servers primarily in the United States.
  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Access Controls: Strict authentication and authorization rules protect your data. Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own data.
  • Media Storage: Generated images and uploaded photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage with secure, authenticated access.
  • Retention: Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Deleted content is removed from our servers within 30 days.

We integrate with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscriptions.
  • Polar / Stripe: Web payment processing and subscription management.
  • Mixpanel: Product analytics for understanding feature usage and user behavior.
  • Vercel: Website hosting and anonymous web analytics.
  • AI Providers: Google Gemini, Ideogram, Segmind, and other services for content generation.

  • Azure / ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech services for audio narration.

  • Push Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your device settings at any time.
  • Public Content: You can set your content to private or remove it from the community feed at any time.

10. Cookies & Tracking (Web)

Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using iCartoon, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
